DIY Butterfly Frame with ‘How-To’ Video

This project is lots of fun and very inexpensive! The instructions will be included in the video tutorial (linked below), but I will list the supplies here. It sounds like you will need TONS of supplies – but most crafters will already have most of these. Remember, you don’t have to follow this project exactly as I have done it… add your own creativity. Perhaps, you may choose a different theme and/or different colors. That’s the beauty of crafting… it allows your own personal creativity to shine! Oh, and FYI – the Supplies List will make more sense once you watch the tutorial… 🙂

SUPPLIES LIST:

Wooden Frame (in the size you choose)     Small Paint Tray (with wells)     Acrylic Paint (blue and white)

Medium Angled Paintbrush     Silver Glitter (or the color you like)     Foam Paintbrush

Glue Pen (I use ‘Zig’ brand)     Cricut Expression (for butterfly cut-outs; or cut out your own images)

Permanent Glue Runner (or something to adhere butterflies to frame)     Glitter Glue Pens

Pencil (for tracing)     Flatback Gems (you choose the color)     Small Black Pom-Poms

Cardstock (in color you choose)     Cuttlebug Embossing Machine (optional)     Small Glue Dots

Small Sticky Foam Dimensional Squares     Ribbon (you choose the color)

X-Acto Knife (I used to trim my butterflies – optional)

ADDITIONAL IDEAS:

~If you don’t want to use cardstock cut-outs for your butterflies, you could always use wooden cut-outs.

~When positioning butterflies, don’t have them all facing the same angle.

~Allow some of your butterflies to be half off the frame and trim excess.

~If your paint gets too ‘muddy’ when painting clouds, wait for it to dry a bit more first.

~In whatever theme you choose, this would be a unique gift idea for many holidays and occasions!
